YMEA BALLET

Valentina Vargas is an accomplished classical ballet dancer and a graduate of the prestigious Instituto Colombiano de Ballet (Incolballet). Since 2017, she has been a member of the Colombian Ballet Company (CCB), where she has refined her technique for over nine years.

Under the direction of José Manuel Ghiso, Valentina has represented the CCB in prominent international ballet festivals, including the Dance Open International Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia; the Alicia Alonso International Ballet Festival in Havana, Cuba; and the FINBA in Cali, Colombia. She has also participated in national and international tours, performing in countries such as China (visiting 28 cities) and Brazil (in Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte), among others.

In her constant pursuit of artistic growth, Valentina has been invited on multiple occasions to prestigious summer courses, including the International Meeting of Ballet Schools in Havana, Cuba, and the Kansas School of Classical Ballet. These experiences enriched her technique and expanded her artistic vision by working with renowned teachers and dancers.

Throughout her career, Valentina has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed choreographers such as Annabelle López Ochoa, Ricardo Amarante, Natalia Berrios, Jaime Pinto, Gonzalo Galguera, Yanis Pikieris, and Zane Wilson, who have contributed to the diversity and depth of her repertoire.

Her experience includes performances of classical masterpieces from the universal repertoire, such as Swan Lake, The Dying Swan, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Paquita, and Don Quixote. Additionally, she has explored contemporary languages in pieces like Doble Corchea, Memorias del Dorado, Trilogía, Carmina Burana, Obertura Cubana, The Four Seasons, and The Rite of Spring.
